Essential account cookies

When you sign in, DD Medical Atlas sets secure, HTTP-only cookies for the access session and refresh session. They allow the service to recognise your authenticated session, protect restricted pages and keep you signed in. The short-lived access cookie normally lasts for up to one hour; the refresh cookie normally lasts for up to 30 days. Signing out removes them.

Local browser storage

The Atlas may store the following information on your device:

• Annotation preferences such as colours and tool sizes.
• Illustrations added locally through the catalogue-management feature.

Local storage is specific to that browser and device. It remains until you remove the relevant content or clear the browser's stored site data.

Why no consent banner is currently shown

The current cookies are used only where necessary to provide account access, security and features requested by the user. DD Medical Atlas does not currently use advertising cookies or non-essential analytics cookies. We therefore do not currently display a consent banner. We will introduce an appropriate choice mechanism before adding any non-essential tracking technology.

Managing stored information

You can sign out to remove session cookies and use your browser settings to inspect or clear cookies and local storage. Clearing them may sign you out, reset annotation preferences or remove illustrations stored only on that device.
